***CALL OUT** Publication contribution - Disability & Accessibility in
grassroots**
**organizations
*EYFA has been working on a year-long project visibilizing the
structural and societal challenges
that young and/or marginalized people with disabilities face within and
outside of movements.
We hope to encourage activist groups and individuals to question their
understanding of accessibility
and inclusion with the aim of building and strengthening solidarity
practices and allyship.
So far, we have interviewed disability justice groups and those with
lived experience of invisible and visible
disabilities to gather various perspectives that will be compiled and
published.
We are currently reaching out to include more experiences and
perspectives for the publication.
Contributions can be in form of a text, comic, drawing or any other form
of graphic. It could also be
work you have already done in the past!
*We are keen on contributions on the following topics:*
• Ableism and discrimination within social and environmental movements
• What inclusion means for you
• Your experience of living with disability/illness
• Accessibility as a practice - beyond structural considerations like ramps
• Intersectional approaches to disability justice
• Responsible allyship and best solidarity practices
*
**Who is invited to submit?*
Anyone with lived experiences of visible or invisible disabilities,
chronic illness, neurodiversities.
*What about the Publication?*
The idea is to create a guide on how we can better organize ourselves /
events / networks and daily
life in a way that is more inclusive and accessible to all. The final
work will be distributed both
online and in hard copy among grassroots groups/projects & basically any
individual interested in
creating spaces that are safer and accessible!
Payment :100euro per contributor/group

Ecotopia Biketour is a self-organised, international community that has
been organising a yearly bicycle tour in different regions of Europe
since 1990. During the tour we visit environmental and social projects
and practice forms of activism and sustainable living. We cook communal
vegan food, practice consensus decision making, and share skills by
doing workshops. Ecotopia Biketour is for anyone interested in
travelling by bike, community life, DIY, an ecological lifestyle, and/or
learning by experience. If this sounds good to you, feel welcome to join us!
We are usually a group of 20–40 cyclists. Most people join for between 2
weeks and 2 months and are participating for the first time. We rarely
cycle all together, some people go ahead in the morning and mark the
route with arrows on the road. People then follow in small groups at
their own speed and rhythm. We support each other and keep distances at
a level that everybody and everybike can manage. Don't worry if you have
never travelled by bike before.
We attempt for a non-hierarchical environment by rotating
responsibilities, sharing skills and respecting personal needs. People
can sign up for daily tasks (cooking, pulling a trailer, marking the
route, etc.), but everyone can decide individually how much they want to
do. We gather as a group in a circle every few days to talk about how
everything is going and to collectively make decisions. We aim to create
a non-discriminatory environment, where discrimination based on
perceived or actual gender or sexual orientation, class, race, age,
ability or religion is not tolerated.
We cook communally with portable stoves, carry all our equipment
ourselves, try to buy local and organic food; and we dumpster-dive where
possible. We suggest a donation of 3–5 € per day to cover food costs,
but people who cannot give this donation are also welcome to join.
In the year 2021 we will be cycling for 2½ months in Czech republic,
Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. We will start on the 9th of July close to
Prague with one-week of preparation camp and cycle south towards Linz to
join the bike festival Cyclocamp (July 30 - August 8), then going east
crisscrossing Danube towards Vienna. We will then continue south
admiring the Alps, visiting Graz, Ljubljana, pass by Zagreb, eventually
navigate westwards and cycle to the Adriatic for a final swim.
If you have some questions or have recommendations for projects, groups
and events for us to visit on the way or would like to help preparing
the tour, please write to 2021(a)ecotopiabiketour.net or join our mailing
list on our website: https://www.ecotopiabiketour.net/

praktiziert. Wir ernähren uns vegan, treffen Entscheidungen per Konsens
und versuchen, unser Wissen zu teilen. Die Biketour ist für alle, die am
Fahrradfahren, gemeinschaftlichen Zusammenleben, Selbstorganisation,
So
Tour vorzubereiten, schreibt uns an 2021(a)ecotopiabiketour.net oder tragt

condivisione interpersonale. L’Ecotopia Biketour è aperto a chiunque sia
interessato a viaggiare in bicicletta, alla vita in comunità,
all'autonomia e all'autosufficienza (fai da te), all’ambientalismo e ad
imparare nuove cose.
personali.
basata su genere o orientamento sessuale, classe, origini, età,

Počas týchto túr navštevujeme rôzne environmentálne a sociálne
projekty, aktivizujeme sa a žijeme udržateľným spôsobom života. Varíme
spoločnú veganskú stravu, robíme rozhodnutia na základe spoločného
konsenzu a zdieľame naše zručnosti cez workshopy.
Niektorí ľudia idú napred už skoro ráno a
značia šípkami spoločnú trasu. Ostatní ich neskôr nasledujú vlastným
tempom.
zvládnuť každý človek a každý bicykel. Ak cestuješ na bicykli po prvý
raz, nemusíš sa báť!
Snažíme sa o vytvorenie prostredia bez hierachického usporiadania
striedaním povinností, zdieľaním zručností a rešpektovaním osobných
potrieb.
Slovinsku a Chorvátsku.
a Zagreb. Eventuélne na bicykloch donavigujeme k pobrežiu a zaplávame si
v Jadranskom mori.

Dear friends,
Please find below some additional information following the Zapatista's
request.
ps: for those who are worried about having meetings during the pandemic
- there's also the possibility to organize something online! there is
still a chance to send an invite despite the deadline.
------
Dear friends and comrades,
now we got the information that a vanguard delegation of the delegation
will already head to europe on the 10th of april and arrive mid of june!
They want to visit all the people/groups who invited them before the
actual delegation comes.
More delegations will follow and visit the places they're invited to.
Confirmed are: Germany, Austria, Belgica, Katalunia, Denmark, Croatia,
Slovenia, Spain,
Finland, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Nethterlands, Basque Country,
Poland, Portugal, Great Britain, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey. We are
still in communication, because friends in some countries, for example
Czec Republic or Russia, also invited them but are not listed.
If you want to organize something with a part of the
zapatista/CNI-delegation invitations can still be send until 5th of
April. That's six months after declaring their journey to europe. So it
is very few time but we are trying to reach people/movements from places
where wasn‘t made an invitation to the zapatistas yet. But even if this
information reaches you too late or you don‘t have enough time to decide
it in this few time, please tell us if you want to invite the comrades.
And if you want to invite them directly write to: laotra(a)ezln.org.mx and
notienlacezap(a)gmail.com
And there was also a message from the Zapatista women which the Sup
Galeano forwarded in the last europeanwide meeting:
„The comrades greet and embrace the women of that geography with the
same affection, respect and admiration that they embrace the migrant
woman or not, without organization, name or surname, without race or
language that distinguishes her, who in the streets or in her place in
Europe suffers disappearance, aggressions, dismemberment and death. They
salute their resistance, their struggles; be they big or small, be they
mediatic or not, be they fashionable or not, receive or not much
diffusion, solidarity, support and coverage.
So the comrades want to make clear that there is no interest in
priviledge one group of women above another.“
There has been also been some critiques from the zapatista comrades
towards organizing/thinking too much nationwise. And also about the lack
of organization from left and below (which became visible again in the
organization for the zapatista delegation).
As there is a European coordination to organize in between different
countries/movements/places for the visit of the zapatistas/CNI we can
also connect you there if you are interested.
And if you have questions you can write us to this mailadress:
oeag(a)ya-basta-netz.org
Our conclusion at this time is: we have to continue with the planning
and preparations while staying really flexible about all the
circumstances. It remains being a challenge - the zapatistas are giving
us real-time lessons in organizing...
In solidarity and rebellion,
wanya from the network to organize the zapatista/CNI delegation
Dear friends,
Our comrades, who are part of the Zapatista movement are planning their
trip to Europe in the summer to coordinate and strengthen solidarity
networks on topics of feminism, antifascism, etc. They are looking to
coordinate with more groups/networks from Eastern Europe. Please get in
touch or share with your networks.
*((More info below))*
Dear friends and comrades,
as you might have heard a delegation from the zapatista movement and the
indigenous congress of Mexico (CNI) is planning to come to Europe this
summer. They want to meet people here and get to know eachother within
the fights/movements from the left and from below. It‘s about building
up connections in a global situation of crisis and strengthen a
globalwide anticapitalist, antifascist, feminist and ecological network.
In the future they also plan to visit other continents.
For now the situation got a bit unclear because of the corona-situation,
but the latest informations we have is that they want to come with 160
comrades (120 from the zapatistas and 40 from CNI, and at least 100 of
them are women). Of course they would not travel all the time with 160
comrades as it is also difficult with hosting, corona, etc. The plan is
to make groups of people who would travel in different routes. Concrete
topics they want to talk about are feminicides, fascism and ecology. But
in general they want to get to know the different fights and the topics
inside it.
There is now a europeanwide coordination to plan the journey when the
comrades are here and there are several groups and movements coming
together there. Until now unfortunately there are not much
groups/movements from eastern europe in the coordination. So we are now
directly writing to you, as it is also a possibility to strengthen our
networks from left and below.
So the question is if you want to organize something with a part of the
zapatista/CNI-delegation. It could be very different things depending on
what is possible due to the local situation (how much people, what form,
online or reallife). And the other question is if you are interested to
get in touch with the europeanwide coordination for the
zapatista/CNI-Delegation.
Due to feminist organizing there are also europeanwide meetings and now
there is a feminist encounter with the zapatistas planned (in case it is
possible again to meet with more people outside, but if it is needed we
adapt our plans to the situation). So maybe there are also people (but
no cis-men) interested in taking part in that encounter.
Here is also the communiqué, in which the zapatistas declare their
journey (in russian and english):
http://enlacezapatista.ezln.org.mx/2020/12/11/%d1%87%d0%b0%d1%81%d1%82%d1%8…http://enlacezapatista.ezln.org.mx/2020/10/07/part-six-a-mountain-on-the-hi…
And here the decleration as an answer to their announcement to visit the
world, signed from different groups from everywhere. So if you want to
organize something, you can also look up there whoelse signed this
decleration in your country and connect with them.

EYFA office
Dearest eyfa network,
*TL:DR synopsis: *
Since there is noopportunity for an eyfa network meeting this year, we
are keen to share the renewed priorities that 2020 brought to the eyfa
office. We want to be better at our solidarity work and particularly with
how we show up for racial and disablity justice struggles. It's our aim
to be aware of intersectionality and to apply this lens in our
understanding of issues, both internally andin our projects &collaborations.
Read on to find out:
Howto organise together with us next year
How our decolonizing process is going & tips*? for thoseinterested
in reflecting on the dominance of white supremacy culture in your
activist groups
How to participatein any of the trainings eyfa is offering next year
Wewould also like toknow how you are doing.Things are hard, but we
believe in the ongoing will to collaborate!
* 2020, a year of internal reflections on collective and societal
racial dynamics*
In case you've been wondering what we at the eyfa office have been
up to these past months (as so much of our programme has been either
canceled or postponed), we wanted to share with you a bit about the
internal, structural processes that we've been busy with. There are 2
highlights that might interest you:
1) we've been working on putting our values better into
practice, particularly in terms of what 'intersectionality' needs to
look like in our movements (this means an increased focus on racial
justice and disability justice!)
2) we've been working on decolonizing our modes of working,
dismantling white supremacy culture in our office, and reimagining what
it means to be a truly anti-racist organisation
In order to make these interventions, we've utilised various
anti-racist tool(kit)s (that we are happy to share with those who are
interested!), challenged ourselves to have more conversations about
race, relied on some valuable support from our board members who are
indeed comrades and friends, traversed some difficult interpersonal
landscapes together, putting in varied amounts of emotional labor, and
stuck to our commitment to each other and to collective
liberation/justice. We decided to structure our internal processes by
breaking it down in to several different aspects of how we organise and
work together (e.g. how we interact with the network, staff recuitment,
office agreements, etc.). We've approached these different aspects now
weekly for quite a few months and we're in a pretty constant state of
evaluating the process.
***What's been most challenging for us in all of this*
The whole process (of keeping up with all of our conversations
taking notes, checking again for consensus, revising, questioning our
own terminology, then proposing a new thing/idea - all while working
mostly virtually!) in itself is lengthy and requires patience especially
in theseuncertain circumstances. It can be demotivating to stay stuck in
avisionary phase with wanting to make some structural changes but
without much opportunityto actually take any action.
Also, it's been difficult to maintain consistency during moments of
emotional/mental drainage. At different times, on different days, we've
all felt more or less anxious or demoralised by the state of the world
and so we struggle to put in the energy to tackle theheavy topics(like
the harm that we may have caused each other unknowingly) when we finally
manage to meet together.
Maybe that's why it has taken us so long to reach out to you.
* What does this mean for our future work and how we're organising?*
In general, we are pushing for applying intersectionality as a lens
for all our projects, as well as our collaborations with other groups,
initiatives, and ourselves. In our upcoming projects, we want to give a
more central role to the topics of migrant solidarity, anti-racism,
critical whiteness, decolonization, etc. This means we wish formore of
our white comrades to be engagedin reflecting on their whiteness, white
supremacy culture, and their role in anti-racist movements, while at the
same time we want to reach out and collaborate with more groups and
individuals working within BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of
Color) and migrant communities.
We are in the process of recruitingnew office staffso that we can
have more BIPOC representation in the office and on the board. A
critical elementin this processis how important we see the normalizing
of difficult conversations surrounding racial dynamics, particularly in
spaces/groups professing non-hierarchical structures!
* Where is the eyfa network in all this?*
We aren't able to have a network meeting this year, so would instead
like to take this opportunity to envision collaboration with and among
you all.
*Participation Call Out:* In case you would be interested in
participating in 1 of 2 trainings that we hope to conduct in Berlin
early 2021:
1) *Empowerment workshop for BIPOC activists*
2) *Antiracism and Allies*
write us for more info and to see if there is still space available.
*Orga team call out + looking for tips:* Our overarching workplan
for next year is to explore the intersection between disability and
racial justice, within which we are hoping to conduct study visits,
create a publication, host an international youth exchange, and develop
an online course. We are looking for people to get involved in the
organisational process of these activities, from basic conceptualizing
and planning logistics, to more specific tasks like graphic and/or web
designers for the online course. We look forward to hearing from those
of you who would be interested in organising together! Also please share
this general info with your trusted comrades who might not be on this
list. Because of the topic of the workplan, we are expressly commited to
involving more disabled and BIPOC comrades in the orga teams. Further,
if you have any suggestions for groups or organisations that we should
contact to collaborate with on this workplan, share your tips with us!
*Put some anti-racist tool(kit)s to use in your own contexts:*we
would like to invite any of you who would be interested in conducting
some similar interventions in your own groups, to contact us so we can
share some of the materials that we have gathered. We acknowledge that
there is a hurdle sometimes in overcoming the different contexts from
which the materials are sourced, but we would be interested in future
collaborations involving translation and contextualization of these
materials. Maybe this is a future collaboration we can plan together!
*Share with us what's up:*it's been already quite awhile since the
last newsletter, the one connected to the crisifund, and we are curious
about how you are doing. How are you organising during these difficult
times?
*Proposals for collaboration:*wewould, now more than ever, like to
create space for collaboration amongst different groups/memebers in the
network - in the spirit of intersectionality. If that means that you'd
need any support from the office to share your materials or
announcements wider, or to simply find potential collaborators to bounce
ideas off of, let us know. You can also, if you haven't already, request
to be added to the Network mailing list, which is one that is more
interactive and intended for this exact purpose.
We acknowledge that the eyfa network has a somehow amorphous shape and
it's not always what we all want it or need it to be. We would like this
announcement to start a process where we can invite new groups to join
the network, so we can put our valuesinto practice together. We remain
curious about what shape the network has the potential to take, amidst
all its ambiguity and contradictions. We,in the office, are all finding
2020 pretty difficult, and we definitely didn't anticipate that we'd
have to go so long without seeing each other again. But that's all the
more reason to take these opportunities for reflection... so we're sure
when we do meet again, we'll have plenty to talk about!
in commitment, in collaboration, in solidarity,

Dear Comrades and Friends,
We are still concerned about how some of the repressions related to the
pandemic, and the health risks of the pandemic itself, might be
affecting each of us and we want to reach out to check in with the
broader EYFA Network to see what needs there are in terms of support
that we could offer. In the meantime, until we figure all that out, we
propose this on-going, albeit temporary, support structure.
*What is it?*
CrisiFund is EYFA's small support initiative for our comrades, friends,
network members. For groups that had to stop their actions due to corona
virus, but still have expenses. Or, because of the crisis, started new
activities or would like to do something and need money to continue or
kick it off.
For people, who lost their jobs or other sources of money, who can't
afford the current way of living, who support other people in need, who
suffer from capitalism even more...
To take advantage of our broad social network we wish to connect people
from different parts of europe in order to exchange whatever we have -
info and money, LOVE AND SOLIDARITY, poems and slingshots. Against
isolation, individualism, and borders.
*Join us!*
- let us know if you need financial support - no long explanation
required, just short info how much. it can be you, your group, an
initiative or somebody you know*.
* at this point the budget we have is 3.000euro. the amount per
group/person is 300 euro, mostly because we don't want to have to
choose, set arbitrary criteria, vote - if the total amount is not enough
we will offer each group/person less. write us in the case that you
really need more - maybe we can find a solution.
- let us know if you have money or other resources to share and how can
we help you to reach out to others in need.
- share with us your fundraising and crowdfunding campaigns so we can
spread the word - via emails, on our website and twitter
- share any materials produced in the pandemic time so we can all learn,
maybe you want people to translate it?
- let us know if there are other needs that have come up in your
collectives/communities in terms of trainings/skills, online
infrastructure, communication tools, etc.
This is a call-out we are sending now only to our wider newsletter list,
please keep in mind the limited funds while forwarding. If anything
changes you will be notified.
Apply for CrisiFund round2 by the 25th of June by writing to
